The primary focus of the Conference is dancing On 2. With that in mind those dancers from novice to advanced can develop an aptitude to evolve in their dancing to better synchronize and become one with the rhythms in salsa music.

The Mambo weekend begins Friday, 23 August 02 at the Sagebrush Cantina where the night starts with dance instruction On2 and continues with a live band (Son Mayor)! The regular cover charge will be discounted for all pre-paid Mambo Conference registrants (courtesy of Albert Torres Productions)!

At the Mambo Conference, nearly 40 workshops, each 1½ hours in duration, will cover topics ranging from: Salsa Music, Rhythm, Phrasing & Timing (listening, dancing and feeling the Clave) to Dance Contest Choreography; the roots of salsa, like the Development of Salsa, Son and Rumba, to Styling; Cha Cha Cha to Rueda de Casino; Mambo Fun-damentals to the technique of Precision Spins & Turns and much more! Three levels of instruction (beginner, intermediate and advanced), a room for private instruction as well as a room dedicated to Salsa/Mambo-specific lectures and presentations will be presented simultaneously by some of the most seasoned instructors of the dance and music genre.

Open to the general public, as well as Mambo Conference attendees, Saturday night's live performance is by FREDDY CRESPO Y SU MAMBO REVUE (confirmed) and Sunday night is a live performance by JOHNNY POLANCO Y SU CONJUNTO AMISTAD (confirmed).  DJ Tony "El Tigueron" Gomez will be spinning records before, during and after the live performance for social dancing and practicing the material covered up to that point. Mambo Dance shows by several dance groups will also be a highlight of the evenings!
