Born in Puerto Rico, Louis attended Julliard
School of Music and studied in Africa, Puerto Rico and Cuba. He has been a professional
musician for over thirty years. A member of the Tito Puente Orchestra for seven years
during the 1970's, he has performed and/or recorded with Dizzy GIllespie, Machito, Mario
Bauza, Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria, Johnny Pacheco, Larry Harlow, Celia Cruz, Cachao,
Paul Simon, Manhattan Transfer, Joe Jackson, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Babatunde
Olatunji, Ladji Camara, Katherine Dunham and the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, among others.
He has extensive experience in theatre, film and television; Arthur Penn's "Night
Moves", Leon Ichaso's "Crossover Dreams", Ang Lee's "Eat, Drink, Man,
Woman", "Kojak" and "Private Eye."
Recognized as an expert in the performance of Afro-Caribbean ritual music, he is also the
founder and Director of the "Patakin" and "Carambu" folkloric dance
ensembles which performed as part of Caribbean Cultural Center's "Sacred Drums"
Festival Tour (1991).
Louis is the director of the the Latin Percussion Department as well as the Harbor Stage
Band and curator of the "Raices Project" (an archival chapter in the history of
Latin music) at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts in New York.

John Berdeguer was given his nickname
"Batanga" by Changuito (Jose Luis Quintana), the Cuban master percussionist,
because John's "hands were so thick!" John is the conguero with top charanga
band Johnny Almendra Y Los Jovenes del Barrio and a New York-based percussionist and
University of Salsa teacher through the Harbor Conservatory.

A bassist since early adolescence, Eliseo
performed with the internationally known Puerto Rican ensemble Grupo Perla del Sur (the
Dr. Pila High School Choir and Vocal Group). While continuing his studies in music he
performed with Ednita Nazario, Menudo, Wilkins and co-lead the jazz-fusion band Terranova.
After moving to Los Angeles, California in the late 80's and graduating from the Musicians
Institute, he began teaching Latin bass at Musicians Institute in Hollywood and Los
Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, CA. A member of the international rhythm section of
Grammy nominated guitar duo Strunz & Farah, known for their dynamic live performance
style that draws upon their diverse influences (Afro-Latin, Latin folk, Middle Eastern and
jazz styles). Since 1992 they've toured the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Paris, France.
He has also worked as sideman, arranger and studio musician with the likes of Papo Lucca,
Dave Samuells, Robby "Draco" Rosa, Vikki Carr, Rubén Blades and Roberto Blades.

A native of Caracas, Rolando was awarded a
government scholarship to study in the United States at the Eastman School of Music,
Rochester, NY, and the Manhattan School of Music, from which he earned Bachelor of Music
and Master's Degrees. Since 1971, performances in a wide range of formats, including:
Soloist with Venezuelan Symphonic Orchestra; Caracas Radio and Television Orchestra; many
recordings in Venezuela and the United States, including Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Mario
Bauza and others; featured performances at Apollo Theater, Town Hall and Carnegie Hall;
numerous tours, including Daniel Ponce; and legitimate theater. Teaching experience at
Bronx Community College, East Harlem Music School and privately for the past several
years.
